The NSI INDUSTRIES N-2SP is a tin-plated copper split bolt connector rated for 2 AWG wire. Split bolt connectors create a secure mechanical and electrical bond between two conductors without soldering or crimping. The N-2SP features an electro-tinned body that resists corrosion and promotes conductivity at the joint. The connector includes a nut, spacer, and pressure pad, giving installers everything needed to complete the termination. It is UL listed for copper and copperweld wire applications. Electricians working on branch circuits, service entrances, or tap connections will find this a standard-duty solution for 2 AWG work.
The N-2SP is designed for all-purpose conductor joining in combinations that include copper to copper, aluminum to copper, aluminum to aluminum, steel to aluminum, and steel to copper. Typical install scenarios include feeder taps, grounding connections, and parallel conductor joins in conduit or junction boxes. The included spacer and pressure pad allow the connector to accommodate two conductors of similar or dissimilar materials without direct metal-to-metal galvanic contact. This makes it a practical choice for mixed-metal wiring situations encountered in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work.
UL listed for use with copper and copperweld wires only. Suitable as an all-purpose split bolt connector for 2 AWG conductor joining in mixed-metal and same-metal wire termination applications.
Split bolt connectors are installed by licensed electricians following NEC guidelines for conductor terminations and taps. Always de-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before making any connections. Torque the nut to secure both conductors firmly without crushing the wire strands. Wrap the completed connection with a listed self-fusing or vinyl electrical tape rated for the service voltage if the install environment requires insulation of the joint.
