The NSI INDUSTRIES GL214 is a copper compression lug designed for terminating 2 AWG copper conductors in electrical distribution and grounding applications. Compression lugs create a cold-weld mechanical bond between the conductor and the lug barrel when crimped with the correct die set, producing a low-resistance, vibration-resistant connection. This type of termination is standard in panel boards, switchgear, motor control centers, and service entrance work. Licensed electricians install these lugs as part of branch circuit, feeder, and grounding electrode conductor terminations.
The GL214 is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where 2 AWG copper conductors require a reliable, code-compliant termination point. Typical applications include grounding electrode system connections, neutral bar terminations, and equipment grounding conductors in load centers and distribution panels. The compression-style barrel accepts standard copper conductors and is compatible with common hydraulic and ratchet crimp tools sized for the appropriate die.
Designed as an OEM-style compression lug for use with 2 AWG copper conductors in residential and commercial electrical termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductor. Use the correct compression die for the conductor size and lug barrel to ensure a proper crimp; an undersized or oversized die will produce an unreliable connection. Inspect the crimped barrel for deformation or cracking before energizing the circuit.
