The NSI INDUSTRIES C-2 is a compression splice connector designed to create a secure, permanent connection between copper conductors. This type of connector is installed by crimping with a compatible compression tool, which deforms the sleeve around the conductors to achieve a low-resistance, gas-tight joint. The C-2 is sized for 2 AWG copper wire and is used in residential and commercial electrical distribution, service entrance work, and branch circuit splicing where a reliable buried or in-panel splice is required. Licensed electricians install this connector as part of conduit, direct-burial, or junction box wiring assemblies.
The C-2 compression splice is suited for applications where conductors must be joined end-to-end without a mechanical screw connection. Typical installation scenarios include service entrance cable splicing, feeder conductor extensions, and utility interconnection work. This connector is rated for copper conductors only and is appropriate for both indoor and outdoor applications depending on the enclosure or burial conditions specified by the authority having jurisdiction.
Designed as an OEM-style compression splice for 2 AWG copper conductors in residential and commercial electrical wiring assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before stripping conductors or inserting them into the splice sleeve. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool with the correct die size for the C-2 connector to ensure a proper crimp. Do not use this connector on aluminum conductors unless the product is specifically rated for aluminum.
