The NSI INDUSTRIES 383 is a malleable insulated grounding bushing designed for use on 1-inch conduit terminations. This fitting provides a grounded, insulated throat at the end of a rigid metal conduit or IMC run, protecting conductors from sharp conduit edges while establishing a reliable ground path. Electricians install this bushing where the National Electrical Code requires both an insulated throat and an equipment grounding connection at panel knockouts and enclosure entries. The malleable iron construction resists mechanical stress, and the integrated insulated liner protects wire insulation at the conduit end.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where 1-inch rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit terminates at a panelboard, junction box, or other enclosure. It is used in situations that require a combined insulating and grounding bushing at the conduit end, as required by NEC provisions for protecting conductors at conduit terminations. Licensed electricians handling service entrance, feeder, or branch circuit conduit runs are the primary installers of this fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit bushing for 1-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit terminations at electrical enclosures.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before working at any panel or enclosure. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end and tighten securely before pulling conductors through. Bond the grounding lug to the enclosure ground bar per applicable NEC requirements.
