The NSI INDUSTRIES 263 is a 1-1/4 inch compression-style EMT coupling used to join two sections of electrical metallic tubing in conduit runs. It creates a secure, tight mechanical connection without the need for set screws, relying instead on compression to grip the tubing on both ends. Electricians use this fitting during rough-in and final conduit installation in residential, commercial, and light industrial work. The compression design provides a more weather-resistant connection compared to standard set-screw couplings, making it suitable for damp or exposed location conduit systems.
This coupling is sized for 1-1/4 inch EMT conduit and is appropriate for use in new construction and retrofit electrical installations. It is commonly installed in panel feeds, branch circuit conduit runs, and service entrance conduit work where a reliable mechanical joint between EMT sections is required. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for use with 1-1/4 inch electrical metallic tubing conduit systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit run before beginning work. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the EMT ends, then snug with pliers or a strap wrench — do not over-tighten to the point of deforming the tubing. Ensure conduit ends are cut clean and deburred before inserting into the coupling.
