The NSI INDUSTRIES 262 is a 1-inch compression-style EMT coupling used to join two sections of electrical metallic tubing in conduit runs. This fitting creates a secure, rain-tight mechanical connection without the need for set screws, making it well suited for damp or wet location installations where a reliable seal is required. Licensed electricians install this coupling during rough-in wiring on both new construction and retrofit projects. The compression design allows for fast field installation and provides a consistent, low-resistance bond across the conduit joint.
This coupling is intended for use with 1-inch EMT conduit in residential and commercial electrical installations. Typical applications include service entries, exposed conduit runs in mechanical rooms, and exterior raceway systems where conduit sections must be joined securely. The compression mechanism seats firmly against the conduit wall when the coupling nut is tightened, eliminating the need for additional bonding hardware at the joint.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for use with standard 1-inch EMT conduit systems in residential and commercial electrical raceway installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 358 governing electrical metallic tubing. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit run before making connections or pulling conductors. Slide the coupling over the conduit ends and tighten the compression nut to the fitting body using a strap wrench or conduit pliers until the coupling seats firmly — do not over-torque, as this can deform the conduit wall. Verify continuity of the equipment grounding path across the coupling after installation.
