The NSI INDUSTRIES 245 is a 2-inch steel set screw coupling designed to join two lengths of electrical metallic tubing (EMT). It uses a set screw fastening method to create a secure mechanical connection between conduit sections. The coupling is rated concrete tight when taped, making it suitable for installations where the conduit runs through or adjacent to concrete. It carries UL listing and is not insulated. Licensed electricians install this fitting as part of a conduit system in residential, commercial, and industrial wiring applications.
This coupling is used wherever 2-inch EMT conduit sections need to be connected end to end. It is appropriate for above-grade and embedded applications when properly taped per installation requirements. The concrete tight rating expands its usability to slab and below-grade rough-in work where conduit must pass through or be encased in concrete. Standard EMT installation practices apply, and the set screw design allows for tool-based tightening without threading the conduit ends.
Designed for use with 2-inch trade size EMT conduit. Concrete tight when taped per applicable installation standards.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize all circuits in the conduit system before beginning work. Tighten set screws with the appropriate screwdriver or nut driver to manufacturer specifications. When concrete tight performance is required, tape the coupling per NEC and local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements before encasement.
