The NORTON 78072750008 is a coated abrasive belt designed for aggressive material removal on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. Built on a polyester backing with a closed-coat construction, this belt delivers consistent cut and durability across high-contact grinding and finishing applications. The zirconia alumina abrasive grain is self-sharpening under pressure, making it well suited for coarse stock removal where heat buildup and belt fatigue are concerns. At 80 grit, this belt falls in the coarse range and is appropriate for weld blending, surface prep, and rapid stock removal. Licensed abrasive technicians and fabricators are the primary installers.
This belt fits belt grinders, file belt sanders, and stationary or portable grinding machines that accept a 2-inch wide by 132-inch long endless belt. The closed-coat zirconia alumina construction performs in both wet and dry operating conditions, giving it flexibility across metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial finishing environments. It is part of the R884P series and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one unit.
Designed to fit belt grinders and power file machines that accept a 2-inch by 132-inch abrasive belt. Verify machine belt-path length and tracking width before installation.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and de-energize the grinder before changing belts, and verify the belt arrow or grain direction marking aligns with machine rotation before tensioning. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear or debris that could cause premature belt failure. Follow the equipment manufacturer guidelines for belt tension and tracking adjustment.
