The NORTON 780727-22835 is a heavy-duty abrasive cloth belt engineered for aggressive material removal on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. Built on an RB-weight cloth backing, this belt uses aluminum oxide (AO) grain bonded to a flexible substrate that conforms to contoured workpieces without tearing under load. At 40 grit, it is designed for coarse stock removal, weld blending, and surface conditioning in demanding shop and fabrication environments. The large 10 x 70.5 inch format suits wide belt sanders and industrial finishing machines. Fabricators, metalworkers, and woodworking professionals are the primary installers and users of this product.
This belt is suited for industrial and heavy trade applications where aggressive, consistent cut rate is required across large surface areas. The R228 series cloth construction provides durability in high-heat, high-pressure grinding passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as hardwood stock. It is sold in a minimum quantity of 5 belts per case, making it practical for shop stocking and production-line use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production consumable for wide-belt industrial sanders accepting 10 x 70.5 inch abrasive belts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with wide-belt sanding equipment. Disengage and lock out the machine before changing belts. Verify belt tracking direction arrows align with the machine drive direction before starting. Inspect the platen and contact drum for wear or debris that could cause premature belt failure.
