The NORTON 77696090178 is a Type 27 coated flap disc designed for aggressive material removal and surface blending on metal. Built with zirconia alumina abrasive at 80 grit medium grade, this disc delivers consistent cut and durability through repeated passes on steel, stainless steel, and other hard metals. The fiberglass backing provides stability under load, and the quick-change Type S attachment allows fast mounting without tools. Rated at 30,000 RPM, it is suited for use on compact right-angle die grinders and rotary tools where small-diameter discs are required. Fabricators, welders, and metal finishing technicians are the primary installers of this product.
This disc is intended for small-diameter grinder applications requiring a 2 inch disc. The Type 27 flat profile is well suited for surface grinding, weld blending, deburring, and light stock removal on flat and contoured workpieces. The quick-change Type S attachment makes it a practical choice in production environments where disc changes need to be fast and consistent. It is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shop restocking or job-lot purchasing.
Designed for use with quick-change Type S compatible right-angle die grinders and rotary tools accepting 2 inch flap discs. Verify mandrel and arbor compatibility with the tool manufacturer before mounting.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by qualified metal fabricators or grinding technicians familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Before mounting, confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM disc rating and that the mandrel accepts a quick-change Type S disc. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and never use a disc that shows signs of cracking or delamination. Follow ANSI B7.1 safety requirements for abrasive wheel mounting and operation.
