The NORTON 69957370216 is a 7-inch ceramic alumina fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, stainless steel, and hard-to-grind alloys. Part of the BlazeX F970 series, it uses a resinoid bond over a fiber backing to deliver consistent cut rates across its service life. The disc runs at a maximum of 8,600 RPM and attaches via a threaded arbor hole sized at 5/8-11, compatible with Norton Speed-Change back-up pads. At 80 grit, it falls in the medium grade range, making it well-suited for weld blending, edge conditioning, and stock removal where a balance of speed and surface finish is needed.
This disc is intended for use with angle grinders and right-angle grinding tools in fabrication shops, structural steel work, and industrial maintenance applications. The ceramic alumina abrasive self-sharpens during use, extending disc life compared to conventional aluminum oxide products. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 25 units. The orange disc color identifies it as part of the BlazeX product family, making it easy to distinguish on a busy work bench or in a shared tool crib.
Designed for use with Norton Speed-Change back-up pads. The 5/8-11 threaded arbor hole fits standard angle grinder spindles accepting that thread size.
Installation is performed by trades workers using angle grinders equipped with a compatible threaded back-up pad. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing the disc. Verify that the grinder RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc maximum of 8,600 RPM before operation. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and do not exceed the rated speed.
