The NORTON 69957370205 is a ceramic alumina fiber disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal, stainless steel, and hard alloys. Part of the BlazeX F970 Series, this disc combines a resinoid bond with a ceramic alumina abrasive grain to deliver fast, consistent stock removal across its service life. It is rated at a maximum of 11,000 RPM and carries a very coarse 36 grit designation, making it well suited for weld grinding, surface prep, and scale removal. The fiber backing provides the rigidity needed to hold the disc flat under pressure. Licensed tradespeople and metal fabricators working in both shop and field environments regularly specify this disc for high-production grinding tasks.
This disc is sized at 4-1/2 inches in diameter with a 5/8-11 threaded arbor hole for use with a threaded arbor backup pad. It attaches via a threaded arbor hole mount and is specifically called out for use with a Norton Speed-Change Back-Up Pad. This disc is installed by a tradesperson or fabricator onto an angle grinder using a compatible 5/8-11 threaded backup pad. Before mounting or changing discs, power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source. Verify that the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 11,000 RPM disc rating before operation. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage prior to each use and never use a damaged disc.
