The NORTON 69957370199 is a 5-inch ceramic alumina fiber disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and hard surfaces. Running at up to 10,000 RPM on a standard angle grinder or disc sander, this coated abrasive disc uses a resinoid bond over a fiber backing to hold grain during heavy cutting passes. At 60 grit, it falls in the medium-to-coarse range, making it suitable for stock removal, surface prep, and weld blending. The ceramic alumina abrasive fractures during use to continuously expose fresh cutting edges, extending disc life compared to standard aluminum oxide. Licensed trade fabricators, pipe welders, and metalworkers are the primary users.
This disc is suited for grinding and finishing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field service environments. The 7/8-inch arbor hole fits standard backing pads common to 5-inch angle grinders and disc sanders.
