The NORTON 69957370194 is a coated abrasive fiber disc engineered for aggressive material removal in grinding and blending applications. Part of the BlazeX F970 series, it features a ceramic alumina abrasive grain bonded with a resinoid bond to a rigid fiber backing. At 50 grit, this disc falls in the coarse grade range, making it well-suited for weld removal, edge grinding, and surface conditioning on metal. The disc spins at up to 11,000 RPM and mounts via a standard 7/8-inch arbor hole to a compatible angle grinder or disc grinder. Each package contains one disc, sold in a minimum order quantity of 25.
This fiber disc is used in metal fabrication, structural steel work, and maintenance grinding tasks where fast stock removal is the priority. Coarse-grit ceramic alumina discs like this are standard for trades and shop environments where technicians need to clear mill scale, smooth welds, or prep surfaces before coating. The F970 series orange disc is designed for extended cut life under heavy pressure, making it a practical choice for both production and field work on ferrous metals.
Designed for use on angle grinders and disc grinders accepting 4-1/2-inch fiber discs with a 7/8-inch arbor hole. Part of the NORTON BlazeX F970 series.
Fiber discs of this type are installed and replaced by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians. Before mounting, ensure the grinder is disconnected from power and the backing pad is rated for the disc diameter and RPM. Do not exceed the 11,000 RPM maximum speed rating marked on this disc. Inspect the fiber backing for cracks or delamination before each use and discard any damaged disc immediately.
