The NORTON 69957308012 is a double-cut tungsten carbide rotary burr with a ball nose cylinder head profile, designed for aggressive material removal and contour finishing in metalworking applications. It carries the SC-5 industry specification and features a 1/2-inch cutting diameter with a 1-inch length of cut. The 1/4-inch shank mounts directly into die grinders, rotary tools, and flexible shaft machines. At 25,000 RPM maximum operating speed, it delivers fast stock removal on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Licensed tradespeople and skilled machinists are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This burr is suited for deburring, shaping, grinding, and weld-prep work in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and production settings. The ball nose cylinder geometry allows access to contoured surfaces, internal radii, and recessed areas that flat-end burrs cannot reach. Material compatibility includes 300 and 400 series stainless steel, cast iron, copper, hard and soft carbon steel, titanium, and tool steel, making it a versatile single-tool solution across a wide range of common shop metals.
Designed for use with standard 1/4-inch collet die grinders, rotary tools, and flexible shaft machines. Confirmed material compatibility includes 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Cast Iron, Copper, Hard Carbon Steel, Soft Carbon Steel, Titanium, and Tool Steel.
Install and remove this burr only with the tool fully powered down and depressurized. Secure the 1/4-inch shank firmly in the collet before operation and confirm the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the 25,000 RPM maximum listed for this burr. Always wear eye protection and appropriate PPE when operating rotary burrs. Do not exceed the rated RPM, apply side-load bending force to the shank, or use the burr on materials outside its listed compatibility range.
