The NORTON 69083159106 is a Type 1 ceramic abrasive surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on ferrous metals and hard alloys. Built on a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cut rates and good form-holding under repeated passes. The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter by 1/2 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, runs at a maximum of 3600 RPM, and carries a 60 grit, J hardness (medium grade) rating. The green ceramic abrasive grain is well suited for applications where cool cutting and longer wheel life are priorities.
This wheel is specified for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Material applications include 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is a non-porous, non-tapered, no-recess Type 1 flat wheel, making it a direct fit for standard surface grinding setups in tool rooms, production grinding cells, and maintenance shops.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Suitable for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 guidelines. Before mounting, ring-test the wheel for cracks and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum marked on the wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the rated RPM, and always dress the wheel before first use to ensure concentric, flat running.
