The NORTON 69083149615 is a large-diameter Type 1 (01/41) cut-off wheel designed for stationary grinder applications in demanding fabrication and foundry environments. At 24 inches in diameter and 7/32 inches thick, this wheel is built for high-volume cutting of ferrous and stainless steel stock. The zirconia alumina abrasive grain delivers aggressive, consistent cut rates on hard materials. A resinoid bond holds the grain matrix together under the mechanical stress of high-speed rotation, while dual-side reinforcement supports structural integrity throughout the wheel life. Maximum operating speed is 2,260 RPM. The 1-3/4 inches arbor hole fits standard large stationary grinder spindles. This wheel is specified under the NZ Foundry All Purpose designation.
This cut-off wheel is suited for stationary grinding setups in industrial and commercial settings, including metal fabrication shops, steel service centers, and foundry operations. Primary applications include straight cutting of steel and stainless steel workpieces. The Type 1 flat-wheel profile is appropriate for in-line cutting passes on stationary equipment. Licensed fabricators, millwrights, and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers and operators of wheels in this size class.
Designed for use with stationary grinders accepting a 24 inches diameter, 1-3/4 inches arbor hole Type 1 cut-off wheel operating at or below 2,260 RPM.
Mounting and operation of large-diameter cut-off wheels should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 and applicable workplace safety standards. Always confirm the grinder spindle speed rating does not exceed the 2,260 RPM maximum marked on the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never use a wheel that has been dropped or shows visible defects. Ensure the arbor flanges are clean, properly sized, and torqued according to the grinder manufacturer specifications before starting the machine.
