The NORTON 69014191857 is a Type 1A1 diamond surface grinding wheel designed for precision finishing operations on hard and difficult-to-grind materials. It measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The wheel uses synthetic diamond (SD) abrasive bonded in a resinoid matrix at 100 percent concentration, producing a Very Fine, 220-grit cut. The superabrasive depth is 1/4 inch. This wheel is rated for wet operation and carries a soft wheel hardness (R hardness code). It is installed and dressed by grinding machine operators and tool room technicians working on precision surface grinding equipment.
This wheel is suited for finishing applications where tight surface finish tolerances are required. The 220 grit and Very Fine grade make it appropriate for final-pass grinding on ceramics, carbides, glass, ferrite, and similar hard or brittle workpiece materials. The resinoid bond provides good cutting action and a consistent finish in wet grinding conditions. It fits standard surface grinders with a 1-1/4 inch spindle bore and is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit wheel for surface grinders accepting a Type 1A1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4 inch bore, 7 inch diameter, and 1/2 inch face width.
Diamond grinding wheels must be mounted and dressed by qualified machine operators following the grinder manufacturer's instructions and ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always ring-test the wheel before mounting and ensure the spindle speed does not exceed the wheel's rated maximum RPM. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Wet grinding operation requires adequate coolant flow to the wheel face throughout the grinding cycle to prevent heat buildup and workpiece damage.
