The NORTON 69014191853 is a Type 1A1 diamond surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal and finishing on hard, brittle materials. Built with Armored Synthetic Diamond (ASD) abrasive and a resinoid bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and surface finishes across both roughing and finishing operations. At 7 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, it mounts to standard surface grinding spindles without modification. With a 150 grit rating and a Very Fine grade designation, it is suited for applications where dimensional accuracy and surface quality matter. Hardness code R places it in the soft wheel category, which promotes free cutting action on demanding workpiece materials. This wheel is rated for wet operation.
This wheel is designed for surface grinding applications requiring a fine finish on carbide, ceramics, glass, and similarly hard or abrasion-resistant materials. The ASD abrasive type with a 75 concentration level and 1/4 inch superabrasive depth supports sustained performance through extended runs. It is appropriate for use in tool and die shops, carbide tooling reconditioning, and precision grinding cells where tight tolerances and repeatable surface finish are required. Licensed grinding machine operators and tool room technicians are the primary installers and users of this product.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit grinding wheel for surface grinders accepting a 7 inch diameter, 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, Type 1A1 wheel. Specification code ASD150-R75B99-1/4 can be used to cross-reference against other Norton ASD series wheels.
Wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified grinding machine operator following the machine manufacturer's guidelines and applicable ANSI B11.22 safety standards for grinding machines. Always power down and lock out the grinding machine before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test as recommended by ANSI B7.1. Never exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel or the machine spindle rating.
