The NORTON 69014191843 is a Type 11V9 cubic boron nitride (CBN) superabrasive grinding wheel designed for precision tool grinding applications. Built with a resinoid bond and a 150 grit, very fine grade abrasive, it delivers controlled stock removal and a refined surface finish on hardened steels and tool steels. The 5 inch diameter wheel features a 70-degree face angle and a 7/16 inch face width, making it well suited to form grinding and sharpening operations where geometry accuracy is critical. It supports both wet and dry operation. Licensed tradespeople and toolroom machinists working on cutting tool reconditioning will recognize this as the NORTON Aztec III platform.
This wheel is used in toolroom and production grinding environments for sharpening and reconditioning cutting tools including end mills, drills, and similar hardened tooling. The Type 11V9 cup geometry positions the abrasive face at a defined angle to match flute and clearance profiles on rotary cutting tools. It is appropriate for bench and surface grinders fitted to accept a 1-1/4 inch bore arbor. Both wet coolant and dry grinding setups are supported, giving shops flexibility based on available equipment.
Designed for use on tool and cutter grinders accepting a 1-1/4 inch bore arbor. The NORTON Aztec III series specification (AZTEC III 150T-1/16) identifies the abrasive layer depth and grade; verify spindle speed rating and arbor fit against your machine specifications before mounting.
Wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.23 and OSHA abrasive wheel standards. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel blotter or hub.
