The NORTON 69014191841 is a Type 11V9 cubic boron nitride (CBN) superabrasive grinding wheel designed for precision tool grinding applications. Built under the Aztec III trade name, it features a resinoid bond with a 75 concentration CBN layer that is 1/16 inch deep, delivering consistent stock removal and fine surface finishes. The wheel operates at 100 grit for fine-grade material removal and is rated for both wet and dry operation. At 5 inches in diameter with a 7/16-inch face width and a 70-degree face angle, it suits precision form grinding where tight tolerances are required. Licensed tradespeople and tool-and-cutter grind technicians are the primary installers.
This wheel is suited for precision tool grinding operations in machine shops and industrial grinding environments. Its CBN abrasive is particularly effective on hardened steels, high-speed steels, and similar ferrous tooling materials. The Type 11V9 flaring cup profile and 70-degree face angle make it a fit for sharpening and reconditioning cutting tools, end mills, and similar tooling on dedicated tool grinders. The AZTEC III 100T-1/16 specification identifies the bond system and superabrasive layer depth for shop and procurement reference.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application CBN grinding wheel for tool grinders accepting a Type 11V9, 5-inch diameter wheel with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole.
CBN grinding wheels must be mounted and dressed only by qualified machine operators or tool-and-cutter grind technicians familiar with superabrasive wheel handling. Always power down and lock out the grinding machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never exceed the rated maximum operating speed marked on the wheel or its packaging. Proper flanges and a clean, undamaged spindle bore are required to ensure safe, true running.
