The NORTON 69014191833 is a Type 11V9 cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheel designed for precision tool grinding applications. Built under the Aztec III line, it features a resinoid bond and a 120-grit fine-grade CBN abrasive layer at 1/16 inch depth and a CBN concentration of 75. The wheel measures 3-3/4 inches in diameter with an overall thickness of 1-1/2 inches and a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. Its 70-degree face angle and 3/8 inch face width make it well-suited for controlled material removal on hardened steel tooling. Wet or dry operation is supported, giving technicians flexibility depending on their grinding setup.
This wheel is intended for precision grinding of cutting tools, end mills, drills, and similar hardened workpieces in tool and cutter grinder applications. The Type 11V9 cup wheel geometry is a standard format used in bench and pedestal-style tool grinders found in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The fine 120 grit produces smooth surface finishes appropriate for final sharpening passes on high-speed steel and carbide-adjacent tooling where CBN abrasive is preferred over conventional aluminum oxide or silicon carbide wheels.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit grinding wheel for tool and cutter grinders accepting a Type 11V9 cup wheel with a 3-3/4 inch diameter and 1-1/4 inch arbor hole.
Mounting and dressing of CBN grinding wheels should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool room technician familiar with wheel safety standards. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and verify the machine spindle speed does not exceed the wheel's rated maximum RPM. Flanges and blotters must be properly seated; never force a wheel onto an arbor that requires excessive pressure to fit.
