The NORTON 69014191716 is a Type 11V9 cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheel designed for precision tool grinding and sharpening applications. Built with a resinoid bond and a CBN abrasive concentration of 75, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal on hardened ferrous materials including high-speed steel and tool steel. At 150 grit, it falls in the very fine grade range, making it well suited for finishing and light sharpening work rather than aggressive material removal. The wheel measures 5 inches in diameter with an overall thickness of 1.75 inches and accepts a 1.25-inch arbor hole. Both wet and dry operation are supported, giving technicians flexibility based on their machine setup and workpiece requirements.
This wheel is intended for use on bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and CNC tool and cutter grinders where controlled, fine-finish grinding of cutting tools is required. Typical applications include resharpening end mills, drill bits, reamers, and other hardened tooling. The 70-degree face angle and 0.4375-inch face width of the Type 11V9 profile are specifically configured for flute grinding and relief grinding operations. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die makers, and grinding specialists in both job shop and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit grinding wheel for bench, pedestal, and CNC tool and cutter grinders accepting a 5-inch diameter, 1.25-inch arbor, Type 11V9 superabrasive wheel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding specialist familiar with superabrasive wheel mounting procedures. Power down and lockout the grinder before mounting or removing any wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and always use the correct flanges and blotter washers as specified by the machine manufacturer. Follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels.
