The NORTON 69014191706 is a Type 1A1R diamond surface grinding wheel designed for precision grinding applications on hard materials. It measures 4 inches in diameter and 1/32 inch thick, with a 3/4 inch arbor hole. The wheel uses synthetic diamond (SD) abrasive bonded with a resinoid bond system and carries a specification designation of SD120-R100B99-1/4. At 120 grit with a coarse grade and R hardness (soft wheel hardness rating), it is suited for aggressive stock removal on materials that require superabrasive tooling. The superabrasive depth is 1/4 inch with a concentration of 100.
This wheel is used in surface grinding operations, typically on hard or brittle workpiece materials such as carbide, ceramics, glass, or hardened tool steels. The Type 1A1R form factor is a standard thin-rim configuration suited for cut-off and surface grinding tasks on bench or surface grinders. It is commonly used by tool and die shops, carbide tooling operations, and precision grinding technicians working with superabrasive wheel equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit superabrasive surface grinding wheel for bench grinders and surface grinders accepting a 4 inch diameter, 3/4 inch arbor hole, Type 1A1R wheel configuration.
Superabrasive grinding wheels must be installed by a qualified grinding technician or machinist following the wheel manufacturer and machine manufacturer safety guidelines. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before installation and verify that the machine RPM rating meets or exceeds the wheel speed rating. Do not use blotters or excessive clamping force that could damage the thin-rim structure of a Type 1A1R wheel.
