The NORTON 69014191677 is a Type 1A1 diamond surface grinding wheel designed for precision material removal on hard and brittle workpieces. Built on a resinoid bond with a synthetic diamond (SD) abrasive, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal and surface finishing in a single setup. At 150 grit with a Very Fine grade and a soft wheel hardness rating (R), it is suited for light roughing and fine finishing passes. Wet operation is required to manage heat and extend wheel life. Licensed grinding technicians and tool and die professionals use this wheel in surface grinder applications where tight tolerances and controlled surface finish are priorities.
This wheel fits surface grinders with a 1-1/4 inch arbor bore and accommodates applications ranging from carbide tooling to ceramics, glass, and other superabrasive-appropriate materials. The 1/4 inch superabrasive depth provides adequate working life for production and maintenance grinding operations. The no-recess, no-taper profile of the Type 1A1 form factor makes it straightforward to mount and dress on standard surface grinder spindles. It is used in both toolroom and light production environments where surface finish quality and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed for use on surface grinders fitted with a 1-1/4 inch arbor bore. Suitable for roughing and finishing operations on hard and brittle materials consistent with synthetic diamond superabrasive wheel applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified grinding machine operator or toolroom technician. Shut down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test per ANSI B7.1 standards. Always operate this wheel wet — do not run dry, as dry operation can cause thermal damage to both the wheel and the workpiece.
