The NORTON 69014191640 is a Type 11V9 resinoid-bond diamond grinding wheel designed for precision grinding of hard and brittle materials. The wheel measures 5 inches in diameter with a 1-3/4 inch overall thickness and carries a 150-grit synthetic diamond abrasive rated Very Fine. With a superabrasive concentration of 100 and a 1/16 inch abrasive depth, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal and fine surface finishes on carbide, ceramics, glass, and similar hard substrates. It is suitable for both wet and dry operation. Toolroom grinding machinists and tool-and-cutter grind technicians are the primary installers and operators of this wheel.
This wheel is used on tool-and-cutter grinders and bench or pedestal grinders configured for Type 11V9 cup-wheel geometry. Its 70-degree face angle and 7/16 inch face width make it well suited for sharpening carbide-tipped tooling, grinding ceramic components, and finishing hard-material workpieces in both production and toolroom environments. The 1-1/4 inch hole size fits standard arbor configurations common to bench grinders and dedicated tool grinders in light industrial and machine shop settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use grinding wheel for tool-and-cutter grinders and bench grinders accepting a Type 11V9 cup wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole and 5 inch wheel diameter.
Wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel use. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel. When using wet operation, confirm the coolant system is functioning before starting the grinder to avoid thermal shock to the abrasive bond.
