The NORTON 69014191632 is a Type 11V9 diamond grinding wheel designed for precision grinding of hard and brittle materials. It measures 5 inches in diameter with a 1.75-inch overall thickness and uses a synthetic diamond (SD) abrasive at 150 grit, placing it in the very fine grade range. The resinoid bond holds the abrasive matrix securely, making this wheel suitable for both wet and dry operation. Licensed HVAC, tool and cutter, and machine shop technicians use this wheel when tight surface finish tolerances are required on carbide, ceramic, or similarly hard substrates.
This wheel is used in tool and cutter grinding applications where a very fine surface finish is the target. The 70-degree face angle and 7/16-inch face width make it well suited for grinding relief angles on cutting tools, end mills, and form tools. The 1/4-inch hub design centers on a 1.25-inch arbor hole for positive, repeatable mounting. Both wet and dry grinding operations are supported, though wet grinding is generally preferred at higher feed rates to control heat and prolong wheel life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit wheel for tool and cutter grinders accepting a 5-inch diameter, Type 11V9 profile wheel with a 1.25-inch arbor hole.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following the wheel manufacturer guidelines and ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting. Always de-energize and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and perform a ring test on resinoid bond wheels. Do not exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel.
