The NORTON 69014191628 is a Type 12V9 diamond cup grinding wheel designed for precision grinding of hard and superhard materials. Built with Armored Synthetic Diamond (ASD) abrasive in a resinoid bond, it delivers consistent material removal at 150 grit (Very Fine grade), making it well suited for fine-tolerance surface work. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter and 3/4 inch overall thickness, with a 1-1/4 inch hole and a 3-13/32 inch hub diameter. A 30-degree face angle and 3/8 inch face width focus cutting action along the wheel rim. Superabrasive concentration is rated at 75, and the superabrasive depth is 1/16 inch. Rated for both wet and dry operation, it supports coolant use to extend wheel life and improve surface finish.
This wheel is used in tool and cutter grinding, carbide tooling reconditioning, and precision grinding of ceramics, glass, and hard ferrous or non-ferrous materials. The Type 12V9 form factor fits standard tool and cutter grinders equipped with compatible spindle arbors. It is suited for shop environments where tight surface finish tolerances are required and where operators alternate between wet and dry grinding setups. Licensed grinding machine operators and toolroom machinists are the primary installers and users of this wheel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit grinding wheel for Type 12V9 tool and cutter grinders with a 1-1/4 inch spindle arbor bore.
Mounting and dressing of grinding wheels must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test. Ensure the machine spindle is fully de-energized and locked out before changing wheels. Match the wheel bore and hub dimensions to the machine spindle and use appropriate flanges and blotters as required by the grinder manufacturer.
