The NORTON 66623399204 is a Type 29 zirconia alumina flap disc engineered for aggressive material removal on steel and ferrous metals. At 4-1/2 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole, this disc fits standard right-angle grinders used daily in fabrication, welding, and metalworking. The 24-grit very coarse abrasive cuts fast through weld seams, mill scale, and heavy surface stock. A fiberglass backing plate provides rigidity and supports the angled flap geometry of the Type 29 profile, which concentrates grinding pressure for high-rate material removal. Rated at 13,300 RPM maximum, it is suited for sustained heavy grinding tasks.
This disc is intended for use on steels in industrial and commercial applications. It fits common 4-1/2-inch angle grinders used by metal fabricators, structural welders, ironworkers, and pipe fitters. The Type 29 conical flap configuration works well on flat and contoured surfaces where aggressive stock removal is the priority. The R884P series disc in blue backing is a recognized choice for production grinding environments where disc changeover and consistent cut rate matter.
Designed for use on steels with standard 4-1/2-inch right-angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor hole attachment.
Verify the grinder's no-load RPM rating does not exceed 13,300 RPM before mounting this disc. Power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before changing discs. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and do not mount a damaged disc. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, gloves, and hearing protection when operating angle grinders, per applicable ANSI and OSHA guidelines.
