The NORTON 66623399126 is a Type 27 ceramic alumina flap disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and hard surfaces. It carries a 36-grit, very coarse grade rating and runs on a 4.5-inch diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole. The polyester backing provides consistent flap support and flex during grinding passes. Maximum rated speed is 13,300 RPM, making it compatible with standard 4.5-inch angle grinders used across fabrication shops, structural steel work, and general metalworking trades. The green ceramic alumina abrasive delivers cooler cutting and extended life compared to conventional aluminum oxide discs on harder base metals.
This disc is suited for surface grinding, weld blending, and edge deburring on carbon steel, stainless steel, and similarly hard ferrous alloys. The Type 27 flat-center profile keeps the disc flush against flat workpieces and inside welds, giving metal fabricators and welders clean, controlled contact. The trimmable design allows the operator to expose fresh abrasive as the flaps wear, extending usable disc life before replacement is needed. This disc is a single-unit package with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with 4.5-inch angle grinders fitted with a 7/8-inch arbor. Suitable for grinding and blending applications on ferrous metals in fabrication and structural metalworking settings.
Installation and disc changes must be performed by qualified operators following grinder and abrasive manufacturer guidelines. Always confirm the grinder's rated RPM does not exceed the disc's 13,300 RPM maximum before mounting. Power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing any disc. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during operation.
