The NORTON 66623340079 is a 2-inch diameter, non-woven quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface preparation and finishing work on metal and composite materials. Part of the Merit Surface Prep series, it uses aluminum oxide abrasive grain with a polyester and nylon web backing. The disc carries a Fine grade rating and is rated to 30000 RPM, making it suited for high-speed rotary tools. Clean Bond resin technology keeps the work surface smear-free, while the high-loft nylon fiber construction supports extended service life across repeated passes.
This disc fits TR (Type III) quick-change systems with a Type R attaching button and mounts on die grinders, inline grinders, straight grinders, and handheld disc sanders. It is intended for use on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, titanium, and fiberglass and composites. The Fine grade makes it appropriate for light to moderate material removal and surface conditioning tasks in fabrication, maintenance, and repair applications across industrial and trade settings.
Designed for TR (Type III) quick-change Type R attaching systems. Compatible machines include die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders. Suitable for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, fiberglass and composites, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels.
This disc is installed and replaced by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians using compatible quick-change mandrels. Before mounting or removing the disc, power down the tool and disconnect it from the air supply or electrical source. Verify the spindle speed of the tool does not exceed the 30000 RPM maximum rating marked on the disc. Inspect the disc for tears or damage before each use and discard any disc showing signs of deterioration.
