The NORTON 66623340023 is a 1-inch diameter non-woven quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series. It uses aluminum oxide abrasive grain with a coarse grit (50) rating and is backed by a polyester and nylon web construction for flexibility during use. The disc attaches via a TR (Type III) / Type R quick-change system, making tool-free swaps fast on compatible die grinders and handheld disc sanders. Norton's Clean Bond resin technology resists smearing and loading, while the high-loft nylon fiber construction extends disc life. Licensed trades including metal fabricators, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians use this disc for moderate material removal and surface prep work.
The 66623340023 is suited for surface preparation, blending, and finishing across a wide range of metals. Compatible materials include 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, tool steels, and fiberglass or composite substrates. Typical applications include weld blending, rust removal, and pre-treatment surface conditioning in fabrication shops, field maintenance environments, and industrial facilities. The disc is rated for use on die grinders and handheld disc sanders.
Designed for use with TR (Type III) and Type R quick-change disc systems on die grinders and handheld disc sanders. Suitable for material removal and surface prep on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, tool steels, and fiberglass or composite materials.
Install and remove the disc only with the tool powered down and air or electrical supply disconnected. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 25,000 RPM disc rating before operation. Use only with compatible TR (Type III) or Type R quick-change mandrels and ensure the button is fully seated before running. Eye protection and appropriate PPE should be worn during grinding and surface prep operations per applicable safety standards.
