The NORTON 66623335537 is a 1-inch diameter quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, weld blending, and finishing on a wide range of metals. Part of the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, this Type II (TS) disc features vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded to a high-loft nylon web backing using Norton proprietary Clean Bond resin technology. The coarse grade with 50 grit makes it well suited for removing weld seams, blending surface irregularities, and preparing metal surfaces before coating. The flexible nylon web construction conforms to contoured workpieces without loading or glazing. It mounts via a Type S attaching system and is rated for use on handheld disc sanders up to 40000 RPM.
This disc is intended for use on a broad set of metallic and composite materials including 300 and 400 Series Stainless Steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, tool steels, and fiberglass and composites. It fits handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type S quick-change interface. The 1-inch form factor makes it practical for tight-access areas, detail work, and small weld zones where larger discs cannot reach. Typical users include welders, fabricators, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians performing surface prep and finishing operations.

Install and remove disc only while the tool is powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify the tool spindle uses a compatible Type S quick-change interface before mounting. Do not exceed the 40000 RPM maximum rated speed marked on the disc. Inspect the disc for damage or delamination before each use and replace immediately if defects are found.
