The NORTON 66623335437 is a quick-change non-woven abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface conditioning, weld blending, and finishing operations on a wide range of metals. The disc uses a Type R (Roloc-compatible) attachment system for fast one-handed disc changes on die grinders and handheld disc sanders. At 500 grit (Very Fine grade), it combines Vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain with a high-loft nylon web backing and Clean Bond resin technology to deliver consistent cut and finish without loading. Maximum operating speed is 20,000 RPM. The disc measures 3 inches in diameter. Installed by metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with stainless steel, carbon steel, and non-ferrous alloys.
This disc is suited for both light industrial and production environments where a controlled, fine surface finish is required after welding, grinding, or forming. Typical applications include weld blending on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, deburring and finishing on copper, brass, bronze, cast iron, ductile iron, titanium, tool steels, super alloys, and fiberglass or composite materials. The flexible nylon web backing allows the disc to conform to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it useful for detail work that flat rigid discs cannot reach. Compatible with die grinders and handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R quick-change hub.
Designed for use with die grinders and handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R (Roloc-compatible) quick-change hub. Suitable for material applications including 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Brass, Bronze, Cast Iron, Copper, Ductile Iron, Fiberglass and Composites, Gray Iron, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels.
Installation requires a Type R quick-change hub mounted on a die grinder or compatible handheld disc sander. Ensure the tool speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM disc rating before operating. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows tears, delamination, or distortion. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable ANSI B7 safety standards for abrasive product use.
