The NORTON 66623335436 is a quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, engineered for surface preparation, weld blending, and finishing operations on a wide range of metals and composites. Built on a flexible nylon web backing, this disc uses Vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded with a proprietary Clean Bond resin technology. At 500 grit, it falls in the very fine grade range, making it well suited for light material removal and final surface conditioning. The Type S attaching system allows fast, tool-free disc changes on compatible handheld disc sanders and straight grinders. Maximum operating speed is 20,000 RPM.
This disc is designed for use on metals and composite materials including 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, fiberglass and composites, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels. It is commonly used by fabricators, welders, maintenance technicians, and metalworkers who require a consistent, fine finish without switching to a separate tool. The 3-inch diameter fits standard quick-change spindle pads used with handheld disc sanders and straight grinders.
Compatible with handheld disc sanders and straight grinders equipped with a Type S quick-change spindle pad. Suitable for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, fiberglass and composites, gray iron, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels.
Install and remove this disc by hand using the Type S quick-change spindle pad — no tools required. Before mounting, confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM maximum disc rating. Always power down and disconnect the grinder or sander before changing discs. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable ANSI safety standards for abrasive disc use.
