The NORTON 66623335433 is a Type R quick-change non-woven abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series. It measures 2 inches in diameter and is built on a flexible nylon web backing rated at a Y-weight. The abrasive material is aluminum oxide at a 500-grit very fine grade, designed for surface prep, weld blending, and finishing work on a wide range of metals. The disc uses proprietary Clean Bond resin technology and a Vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain construction to deliver consistent cut and a uniform finish. Maximum operating speed is 30,000 RPM. The high-loft nylon fiber construction resists loading and helps maintain surface contact on irregular geometries.
This disc is suited for metal fabrication, maintenance, and finishing applications in both shop and field settings. Typical use cases include weld blending, deburring, light stock removal, and surface conditioning on stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, brass, bronze, cast iron, ductile iron, gray iron, titanium, tool steels, super alloys, and fiberglass or composite materials. It attaches via a Type R quick-change system and is compatible with die grinders and handheld disc sanders, making it practical for tight spaces and detailed work where a full-size grinding wheel cannot reach.
Compatible with Type R quick-change die grinders and handheld disc sanders. Rated for use on 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Brass, Bronze, Cast Iron, Copper, Ductile Iron, Fiberglass and Composites, Gray Iron, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels.
Install and remove using the Type R quick-change system — no tools required. Before mounting, verify the spindle speed of the grinder or sander does not exceed the disc maximum rated RPM. Inspect the disc for tears or damage before each use and replace if any defect is found. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye and face protection when operating abrasive discs.
