The NORTON 66623335427 is a non-woven quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface preparation, weld blending, and finishing across a wide range of metals. Built on a flexible nylon web backing with a Y-weight rating, it uses vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded with proprietary Clean Bond resin technology. The high-loft nylon fiber construction delivers consistent cut and surface contact without loading. Rated to 20,000 RPM maximum operating speed, this disc runs on TR (Type III) / Type R quick-change systems and is sized at 2 inches in diameter for use in tight spaces and detail work.
This disc is suited for use in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field service applications where surface finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals is required. It attaches to die grinders and handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R or TR (Type III) quick-change arbor. The medium grade, 120 grit specification makes it appropriate for blending welds, removing light oxidation, and prepping surfaces before coating. It performs on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, fiberglass and composites, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels.
Compatible with die grinders and handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R or TR (Type III) quick-change attaching system. Rated for use on 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Brass, Bronze, Cast Iron, Copper, Ductile Iron, Fiberglass and Composites, Gray Iron, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels.
Disc installation and removal requires a compatible Type R or TR quick-change arbor; always ensure the arbor and tool are rated at or above the disc maximum RPM before mounting. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before changing discs. Do not exceed the maximum operating RPM marked on the disc or listed in the specifications. Eye protection, gloves, and appropriate respiratory protection should be used during grinding and surface finishing operations per applicable safety standards.
