The NORTON 66623335424 is a TR (Type III) quick-change non-woven abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface conditioning, weld blending, and finishing on a wide range of metals. The disc measures 1.5 inches in diameter and is rated for up to 30000 RPM, making it compatible with high-speed die grinders and handheld disc sanders. It uses vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded to a flexible, high-loft nylon web backing with proprietary Clean Bond resin technology. At medium grade (120 grit), it removes surface scale and blends welds without aggressive material removal. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general trade technicians reach for this disc when a controlled surface finish is required on structural or mechanical components.
This disc is engineered for use on a broad spectrum of metallic and composite substrates including 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, tool steels, and fiberglass/composites. It attaches via a Type R attaching system and is suited for spot prep work in tight areas where a 1.5-inch disc provides access that larger discs cannot. It performs in both production and field service environments where consistent surface conditioning results are needed.
Compatible with die grinders and handheld disc sanders equipped with TR (Type III) quick-change systems using a Type R attaching interface. Rated for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, tool steels, and fiberglass/composites.
Installation is performed by trade technicians or maintenance professionals familiar with abrasive tooling and angle grinders. Ensure the tool is powered off and disconnected from the air supply or electrical source before attaching or removing the disc. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30000 RPM disc rating before operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive discs.
