The NORTON 66623335422 is a TR (Type III) quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface preparation, weld blending, and finishing on a wide range of metals. At 1 inch in diameter, this non-woven disc pairs Vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain with a high-loft nylon fiber web and a proprietary Clean Bond resin system. The result is a flexible, maroon-colored disc rated for up to 40000 RPM that delivers consistent cut without loading. Grit is 120, placing it in the medium grade range. It is installed and operated by metalworkers, fabricators, and trade technicians using die grinders or handheld disc sanders.
This disc is suited for detail surface conditioning work on tight or contoured surfaces where larger discs cannot reach. The 1 inch format makes it especially useful for interior welds, pipe connections, and confined joint areas. Compatible material applications include 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels. The nylon web backing provides flexibility to conform to irregular surfaces without gouging or cutting through base material. Sold individually.
Compatible with TR (Type III) Type R quick-change mandrels. Designed for use with die grinders and handheld disc sanders. Suitable for material applications including 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels.
Installation is performed by metalworkers, fabricators, or maintenance technicians using a compatible TR (Type III) Type R quick-change mandrel. Verify that the mandrel and tool are in good condition and rated to meet or exceed the disc maximum RPM before mounting. Ensure the grinder or sander is powered off and disconnected from its power source before attaching or removing the disc. Do not exceed the rated maximum RPM of 40000 during operation.
