The NORTON 66623335419 is a 4-inch quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, engineered for surface conditioning, weld blending, and finishing operations. It uses a non-woven nylon web backing loaded with Vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain and bonded with NORTON proprietary Clean Bond resin technology. The coarse 80-grit construction delivers aggressive stock removal while the high-loft nylon fiber construction conforms to irregular surfaces. The Type R (Roloc-compatible) attaching system allows fast one-handed disc changes on handheld disc sanders. Rated to a maximum of 15,000 RPM, this disc suits demanding metalworking environments where consistent finish quality and disc longevity matter.
This disc is intended for use on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in fabrication, welding, and maintenance applications. Typical uses include weld blending, deburring, and surface preparation on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, cast iron, ductile iron, gray iron, brass, bronze, and copper. It also performs on fiberglass and composite substrates. It is installed on handheld disc sanders in both shop and field environments by metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians.
Designed for use with Type R (Roloc-compatible) quick-change handheld disc sanders. Compatible material applications include 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Brass, Bronze, Cast Iron, Copper, Ductile Iron, Fiberglass and Composites, Gray Iron, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels.
Installation is performed by metalworking and fabrication professionals using a compatible Type R quick-change backing pad. Before mounting or removing the disc, ensure the tool is fully powered down and disconnected from its power source. Do not exceed the 15,000 RPM maximum speed rating. Inspect the disc for tears or delamination before each use and discard any disc showing visible damage.
