The NORTON 66623335416 is a 3-inch quick-change non-woven abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface conditioning, weld blending, and finishing on a wide range of metals. It uses vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded with a proprietary Clean Bond resin system and carried on a high-loft nylon web backing. The coarse 80-grit cut rate handles stock removal and surface prep in demanding fabrication and metalworking environments. It attaches via a Type S quick-change interface and is rated for use on handheld disc sanders. Licensed technicians and metalworkers in fabrication, welding, and maintenance trades install and operate this disc.
The Bear-Tex Rapid Prep disc is suited for both light and heavy surface conditioning tasks across a broad spectrum of metals, including stainless steel grades 300 and 400 series, brass, bronze, cast iron, ductile iron, gray iron, copper, fiberglass and composites, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels. Its flexible nylon web backing conforms to irregular and contoured surfaces, making it a practical choice for weld blending passes and pre-finishing work where a rigid disc would leave high spots or skip contact areas. The disc is packaged and sold individually.

Metalworkers and fabricators should ensure the host tool is powered off and the disc grinder or sander is fully stopped before mounting or removing the disc. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the disc maximum RPM rating before operation. Inspect the disc for tears, delamination, or damage before each use and discard any disc showing visible defects. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive discs.
