The NORTON 66623335327 is a 3-inch non-woven quick-change disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, engineered for weld blending, surface conditioning, and finishing on a wide range of metals. It mounts via a Speed-Lok TS Type R attachment for fast, tool-free disc changes on compatible handheld disc sanders. The disc uses Vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded to a high-loft nylon web backing with a proprietary Clean Bond resin system. Rated to 20,000 RPM, it carries an Extra Coarse grade and a flexible construction that conforms to contoured workpiece surfaces. Installers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with stainless steel, carbon steel, and non-ferrous alloys are the primary users.
This disc is suited for industrial and trade applications where consistent surface prep and weld blending are required. Its non-woven construction resists loading and heat buildup better than coated abrasive alternatives, making it appropriate for finishing soft metals and composites where surface integrity matters. The Type R quick-change attachment aligns with TR (Type III) quick-change system tooling, keeping changeover time low during high-volume jobs. It is packaged as a single disc with a minimum order quantity of 25 units.
Compatible with TR (Type III) quick-change attachment systems on handheld disc sanders. Suitable for use on 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Brass, Bronze, Cast Iron, Copper, Ductile Iron, Fiberglass and Composites, Gray Iron, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels.
Install and remove this disc only with the tool powered off and the air or electrical supply disconnected. Confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM disc rating before operation. Inspect the disc for damage or delamination before each use and replace immediately if defects are visible. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive tooling.
