The NORTON 66623325047 is a 1-inch diameter quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface preparation, weld blending, and finishing on a wide range of metals and composites. It features a very fine, 500-grit aluminum oxide abrasive on a flexible, high-loft nylon web backing using Norton proprietary Clean Bond resin technology. The disc uses a TR (Type III) / Type R attaching system for fast tool-free changes on compatible grinders and sanders. It is rated for use at up to 40000 RPM, making it well suited for high-speed die grinder applications. Installation and use fall within the skill set of fabricators, metalworkers, and maintenance trades.
This disc is built for use on die grinders and handheld disc sanders in both shop and field environments. The flexible nylon web construction conforms to contoured surfaces, making it practical for finishing welds, blending transitions, and light deburring. Material compatibility is broad, covering 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, ductile iron, gray iron, copper, fiberglass and composites, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels. The blue disc color and black button are identifying markers consistent with the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep product line.
Compatible with die grinders and handheld disc sanders equipped with a TR (Type III) or Type R quick-change interface. Suitable for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, brass, bronze, cast iron, ductile iron, gray iron, copper, fiberglass and composites, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels.
Always verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the disc maximum RPM rating before mounting. Power down and disconnect the grinder or sander from its power source before changing discs. Seat the quick-change button fully onto the TR-compatible mandrel before operating. Wear appropriate eye and face protection and ensure workpiece is secured before beginning surface preparation work.
