The NORTON 66623325041 is a 4-inch non-woven quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface conditioning, weld blending, and finishing across a wide range of metals and composites. The disc uses vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded to a high-loft nylon web backing with a proprietary Clean Bond resin system. The fine-grade abrasive delivers consistent cut and surface finish without aggressive stock removal. Rated to 15,000 RPM, it attaches via a Type R quick-change system, making tool-free disc swaps fast during production or repair work. It is installed by metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians.
This disc suits die grinder and handheld disc sander applications in industrial, fabrication, and maintenance environments. It is well suited to work on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, tool steels, and fiberglass and composite materials. Typical use cases include weld blending, light deburring, surface prep before coating, and finishing passes on soft metals where surface integrity matters.
Compatible with die grinders and handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R quick-change hub or mandrel. Install onto a Type R quick-change mandrel by pressing and locking according to the mandrel manufacturer's instructions. Verify the spindle speed of the tool does not exceed 15,000 RPM before operation. Wear appropriate eye protection and gloves during disc changes and grinding operations. Inspect the disc for tears or damage before each use and do not use a disc that shows signs of delamination or core damage.
