The NORTON 66623325013 is a TR (Type III) quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface finishing, weld blending, and preparation work on a wide range of metals and composites. Measuring 3/4 inches in diameter, this non-woven disc uses vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded to a flexible, high-loft nylon web backing with proprietary Clean Bond resin technology. The coarse 80-grit construction cuts aggressively while the non-woven structure conforms to irregular surfaces. It is rated up to 40000 RPM and attaches via a Type R attaching system, compatible with handheld disc sanders. Licensed tradespeople and skilled fabricators are the primary installers.
This disc is suited for handheld disc sander applications in metal fabrication, welding shops, plumbing, and mechanical trades where surface prep and finishing are required. It performs across a broad range of materials including 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, fiberglass and composites, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels. The flexible nylon web backing allows the disc to follow contours on pipe, fittings, and fabricated assemblies, making it useful in both bench and field work.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a TR (Type III) or Type R quick-change interface. Suitable for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, fiberglass and composites, gray iron, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels as stated by the manufacturer.
Install and replace this disc only with the tool powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 40000 RPM maximum disc rating before operation. Inspect the disc and the quick-change button for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows tears, delamination, or button damage. Follow all applicable ANSI B7.1 safety requirements for abrasive product use and personal protective equipment.
