The NORTON 66261170279 is a 5-inch non-woven hook and loop abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing applications. Built with an aluminum oxide abrasive on a flexible nylon backing, this disc delivers consistent coarse-grade cutting action across metal, wood, and composite surfaces. The hook and loop attachment system allows fast disc changes without tools, making it a practical choice for production and maintenance work. The flexible nylon construction conforms to irregular surfaces, which reduces gouging and helps achieve uniform finishes. Rated to 10,000 RPM, it is compatible with standard random orbital and disc sanders equipped with hook and loop pads.
This disc is suited for metal fabrication shops, HVAC sheet metal work, general maintenance, and light industrial surface prep. The coarse grade makes it effective for removing oxidation, mill scale, weld discoloration, and surface contaminants before finishing or coating. The blue non-woven disc does not load easily, extending usable life compared to coated abrasives in similar applications. It is sold individually and is a direct replacement disc for worn or spent pads on existing hook and loop sanders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement non-woven disc for 5-inch hook and loop random orbital sanders and disc sanders used in metal fabrication, maintenance, and surface preparation applications.
Installation is performed by pressing the hook and loop face of the disc firmly onto the sander backing pad — no tools required. Confirm the sander's rated speed does not exceed 10,000 RPM before use. Inspect the disc for tears or separation before each use and discard any damaged disc immediately. Follow applicable shop safety practices including eye protection and guarding when operating abrasive tools.
