The NORTON 66261139381 is a 1000-grit, ultra-fine silicon carbide sanding sheet designed for precision surface finishing on a wide range of substrates. Built on a B-weight paper backing with a closed coat density, this sheet delivers consistent abrasive contact and a smooth, uniform finish. The silicon carbide abrasive is well-suited for sanding hard materials, finishes, and coatings where fine material removal and surface refinement are required. The T401 series construction supports both wet and dry sanding applications, giving the installer flexibility depending on the task. Installation and finishing tradespeople, auto body technicians, and skilled tradespeople performing finish work are the primary users of this sheet.
This sanding sheet is used in finish sanding operations across residential and commercial applications. The wet and dry compatibility makes it effective for sanding lacquers, varnishes, primers, and similar coatings during surface preparation or between finish coats. The closed coat construction keeps abrasive grain packed tightly for consistent scratch patterns at ultra-fine grits. It is suited for hand sanding blocks or compatible backing pads. Note that this sheet is not load-resistant, so it is best applied to clean, dry or wet surfaces free of heavy residue or buildup.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement sanding sheet for use with standard hand sanding blocks and backing pads that accept sheet-format abrasives at common sheet dimensions.
This product is installed and used by finishing tradespeople, painters, auto body technicians, and general contractors performing surface prep work. No power tools or electrical shutoff is required for hand sanding applications. When used with a pneumatic or electric backing pad, ensure the tool is powered down before attaching or removing the sheet. For wet sanding, keep the work surface and sheet appropriately saturated to prevent loading and extend sheet life.
