The NORTON 66261138819 is a 7-inch zirconia alumina fiber disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and heavy stock. Rated at 24 grit (Very Coarse grade), it belongs to the F826P series and is built on a rigid fiber backing with a resinoid bond that holds abrasive grain under sustained load. The threaded arbor hole accepts a 5/8-11 spindle mount for fast disc changes. Maximum rated speed is 8,600 RPM. At 0.08 pounds per disc, the backing stays flat and consistent during grinding passes. This disc is designed for use with the Norton Speed-Change Back-Up Pad system.
This fiber disc is suited for angle grinder work on fabrication and structural steel, weld blending, surface conditioning, and deburring operations in industrial and commercial shop environments. The zirconia alumina abrasive self-sharpens as it wears, maintaining cut rate longer than standard aluminum oxide on ferrous metals. Each package contains one disc. Minimum order quantity is 25 discs. Metal fabricators, welders, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users of this disc type.
Designed for use with the Norton Speed-Change Back-Up Pad system. The 5/8-11 threaded arbor hole fits standard angle grinders accepting that spindle thread size. Verify back-up pad compatibility before mounting.
Installation is performed by grinding equipment operators and metal fabricators. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing a disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and do not operate above the rated 8,600 RPM. Confirm the back-up pad is rated for the disc diameter and that the spindle threads are clean and undamaged before threading on the disc.
