The NORTON 66261138796 is a 5-inch coated quick-change abrasive disc from the F926P series, designed for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces. It uses a zirconia alumina abrasive grain bonded to a heavy Y-weight fiber backing with resin bond technology, producing a self-sharpening cut that extends disc life and reduces heat buildup at the workpiece. The Type S (Speed-Change) arbor mount allows faster disc swaps without additional tooling. Rated to a maximum of 12,000 RPM, this disc is suited for licensed fabricators, pipefitters, and metalworkers handling heavy-duty grinding and stock removal tasks.
This disc is intended for use on a right-angle grinder or pistol grip air sander in production and field fabrication environments. It is rated for use on 300 series stainless steel, 400 series stainless steel, cast iron, soft carbon steels, super alloys, and titanium. The 36-grit, extra coarse grade makes it appropriate for weld blending, scale removal, and initial stock removal where surface finish is not the primary concern. Both light industrial and heavy fabrication shops will find it effective for high-contact grinding applications.
Designed for use with right-angle grinders and pistol grip air sanders equipped with a Type S quick-change arbor. Rated for 300 series stainless steel, 400 series stainless steel, cast iron, soft carbon steels, super alloys, and titanium.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use of abrasive products. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 12,000 RPM disc rating before mounting. Disconnect or power down the grinder and allow it to come to a complete stop before changing discs. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage prior to each use and do not use a disc that shows any signs of deterioration.
