The NORTON 66261138681 is a coated quick-change abrasive disc engineered for aggressive stock removal on metal and wood surfaces. Part of the R860 Series, it features a zirconia alumina abrasive grain that is self-sharpening, extending disc life under heavy grinding loads. The 4-inch diameter disc mounts via a Speed-Lok TS (Type II / Type S) attaching system for fast tool-free changes on handheld disc sanders. Backed by a Y-weight polyester substrate rated to 15000 RPM, it is designed for rigid, high-pressure applications including weld blending, deburring, and surface conditioning. Licensed trades and fabricators working on structural and ornamental metalwork will find this disc suited to repetitive production use.
This disc is rated for use on 300 Series stainless steel, 400 Series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, hard woods, and soft woods. The semi-open coat configuration resists loading on non-ferrous metals and softer materials. Its coarse 50-grit rating makes it best suited for initial material removal, heavy weld blending, and edge deburring rather than finish work. It is compatible with handheld disc sanders that accept Type S or Speed-Lok TS quick-change arbors.
Designed for handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type S or Speed-Lok TS (Type II) quick-change arbor. Suitable for material applications including 300 Series stainless, 400 Series stainless, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard and soft carbon steels, hard woods, and soft woods.
Installation is performed by pressing the disc onto a compatible Type S or Speed-Lok TS quick-change arbor until it seats securely. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 15000 RPM disc rating before operation. Always install and remove discs with the sander powered off and disconnected from its power source. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling and operating coated abrasive discs.
